Florida Needs Us Now!

 Florida Needs Us Now!

Today is March 9, 2022.

Every week I get an email from Powur. It's always packed with updates and helpful information and exciting news. But sometimes there is news that isn't so exciting. I received this update a few days ago on the 7th of March.
I gave it a couple of days to think about how I wanted to approach this topic, and help spread the news.

So here’s the update on the Solar situation in Florida, (Sourced from Powur's weekly update):

After weeks of attempting to convince the Florida Legislature to oppose the net metering bill, both the House and Senate approved the bill that would make major changes to many rules for rooftop solar energy. Unfortunately, this could cripple the solar industry, reducing financial incentives for homeowners to install rooftop systems.

While there is a stay until January 1, 2024, after that - this bill will begin reducing the net metering rate homeowners and business owners get paid; this ends up giving customers 75% of energy credit in 2024, dropping to 60% in 2026, and down to 50% in  2027. Customers who own or lease solar panels and use public utilities have until 2029 to lock in a net metering rate for the next 20 years.

What’s the next step? This bill is heading to the governor’s desk and we want it to be vetoed!
  1. Call or email Gov. DeSantis’ office with a CLEAR message - VETO this harmful bill!
  2. Visit Florida’s Solar Energy Industry Association website to access their toolkit - a comprehensive resource that gives you social media graphics and additional information on this fight - https://www.flaseia.org/toolkit/.

More than 40,000 people are employed by the solar industry in Florida, from knowledge-based services and government roles to wholesale trade and construction jobs. Now their jobs are on the line. Currently, Florida is ranked as the 4th largest rooftop solar industry in the U.S., powering nearly 800,000 Florida homes. We need you to take a stand and support sustainable energy solutions and the policies that make it possible! Look out for more updates from us as we fight, fight, fight

I took a few parts out because they were more directed to the sellers in the field. But I do love how Jonathan Budd, Founder of Powur gets supper churched and passionate about our mission!

Today Energy Prices Skyrocketed Beyond Anyone's Expectations

Today Energy Prices Skyrocketed Beyond Anyone's Expectations

  Today is March 7, 2022

According to a PBS news hour report, Prices for crude oil and natural gas have skyrocketed since the war started between Russia & Ukraine began. Now the Biden Whitehouse is raising possible new hard sanctions on this vital sector.

Today crude oil rose to almost $140. a barrel for Brent. That's the benchmark for oil around the world. What does this mean for the prices at the pump & to your eclectic bill? On February 10, 2022, Move.org said that the average cost of electricity was $114.44 per month. Natural gas was at $63,34, The US was worried that crude oil prices would go over $100 per barrel. Now at close to $140 a barrel, sticking with fossil fuel based energy could only mean less money for summer outings this year. This as the pandemic restrictions are just easing up and people will want to get out in life again. Have a look at the most recent average electric bill according to SaveOnEnergy.com. last updated on March 3, 2022.

So what can you do to get ahead of rising energy costs? It's become more and more true that solar energy is the cheapest way to get your energy. After all, the sun comes out everyday. Even when the clouds are in, the solar panels still collect energy. That's right! You don't have to live in the sunniest states to benefit. If you haven't seen what solar could look like for you and your home, there has never been a better time than right NOW!! Get a proposal for solar today to get the biggest benefits as summer is just around the corner. When solar shines the most!

Currently, Powur has the very best offer in the market place, and it's to no surprise either. Offering it's customers a check of up-to 3 years of payments once they have been installed is by far the best offer I've seen. Imagine not having to worry about your an energy bill for the next 3 years!

Powur is the fastest growing solar company in the market place. Last year, Powur ranked No 61 for the Inc. 5000 magazine's fastest growing private company. This ranking is the most prestigious recognition for the nation's fastest-growing private companies. Powur joins names such as Microsoft, Under Armour, and Intuit.

Are you feeling the Pain at the pump, & or utility bills?

Are you feeling the Pain at the pump, & or utility bills?

* How does Climate Change & the conflict in Ukraine relate?

* Is there relief?

On Thursday, President Joe Biden addressed the nation about the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

In that speech, he mentioned that energy prices would likely rise, but promised to use every tool possible to protect families from higher costs. Sadly, inflation has already put us at an all time high.

Here in Oregon, and in just the course of 3 months, the gas has risen from an average of $3.47 to upwards of $6.00 plus in some parts. And we haven't even felt the real punch from the conflict yet.

If gas prices are rising, we can expect to also fill the pain in the electric bill.

So, what can you do, and what are some alternatives?

Don't stay stuck in a never ending contract with your utility company when you can own your electricity for less, have predictability, and peace of mind with solar energy. Get the Solar FAQ here.

What can help the most in hard times like this? Cutting down a bill or two could be a great start. Gas/energy prices are unclear where they will settle down and Plato.

Recently it's become more clear to the public eye that Solar Energy is a great move toward a cleaner environment, and has many other benefits as well.

Key Points

  • Real estate information provider Zillow found that New Jersey, Pennsylvania and North Carolina offer the highest solar premiums in the country.
  •  Solar rooftop panels can boost your home's value and lower an electricity bill.
  • California became the first state in the U.S. to require all new homes to have solar panels on their roofs, starting in 2020.

Solar doesn't work on every home, and Not every home qualifies for rooftop solar. However, the best way to find out if your home is right for solar, go to DavesEnergy.com

BONUS!! Go solar now, and receive a check upon install for up to 3 years of solar payments!!

Preserving Florida's Rooftop Solar Industry!

More than 40,000 people are employed by the solar industry in Florida, from knowledge-based services and government roles to wholesale trade and construction jobs. Currently, Florida is ranked as the 4th largest rooftop solar industry in the U.S., powering nearly 800,000 Florida homes.

What’s happening now?

Strong net metering policies are extremely important in increasing the economic viability of rooftop solar. Proposed changes to net metering in SB 1024 & HB 741 would decimate Florida's growing rooftop solar industry, resulting in the loss of thousands of solar jobs., and significantly impacting local companies. On top of that, this would be a huge blow to Florida homeowners and takes away their right to adopt solar.

How can you help?
